The Kids X-Press Difference

Every child has a story to tell, a message to convey, a picture to draw, or an experience to relate. These stories become an important tool through which children learn to express themselves and proclaim to others information about their world. The stories also help others appreciate the diverse experiences children have, laying a foundation for understanding and acceptance of these differences. We provide a quality publication for children of ALL backgrounds and abilities. This encourages children to develop the confidence and creativity needed to write.

BENEFITS TO CHILDREN

Using stories as an enabling tool, children are offered the opportunity to:

  • Build self-confidence;
  • Develop self-expression skills;
  • Express their feelings and thoughts;
  • Hone important communication skills, such as thought organization, language development, and creative thinking;
  • Become more observant of their surroundings;
  • Increase language and art skills through practice; and
  • Foster their imagination and natural talents.

About Our Programs

Our programs consist of a unique combination of methods:

• Hands-On Workshops
Targeting underserved communities, this outreach program provides opportunities for the most difficult to reach children.

• Custom Publishing
An opportunity  for organizations  to have their own magazine (print or digital), written and illustrated by kids, that communicates a particular message. Topics have included childhood obesity, science literacy, etc.

• KXP On-Call
Kids X-Press has a children’s press corps (KXP-On-Call) that covers public interest stories. This has included reports on global topics such as deforestation, how water is collected in a Kenyan village, and interviews with a wide variety of personalities such as Soledad O’Brien, Patti LaBelle, Donald Trump, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Meredith Vieira and Newark Mayor Cory Booker and other community and business leaders such as executives at Entergy, UPS, etc. تKXP-On-Call is an opportunity for tweens and teens to be journalists by doing research, asking questions and writing articles for publication.

• Independent Submissions
Open to all children as a publishing venue!

• Kids X-Press Magazine
