Happy Cinco de Mayo
admin | May 07, 2013
Hello Everyone, Cinco de Mayo is approaching! Many people celebrate this annual holiday in Mexico and even the United States. Beginning as a victory on May 5th 1862 in the battle of Puebla against the French, Cinco de Mayo has become a holiday of pride for Mexicans and Mexican-Americans. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we would like to dedicate our blog to this country. Enjoy the art and stories by children from Mexico. Sincerely, Nivia Viera Founder and Publisher
Voice of Sandy
admin | February 14, 2013
There is a lot of press surrounding this horrific storm. Everyday you see and hear stories of despair and survival.
Although difficult to get access to youth, Kids X-Press was able to get the poem of one child from Breezy Point.
Read Abby's beautiful and compelling poem.
By Abby Staniek
Sandy struck when luminous lightning stretched across the starless sky,
I read the fear that was written across my family's broad eyes,
Thunder crept into my ears and screamed,
A single candle upon my desk shimmered and gleamed,
The terror of the storm struck after the damage was done,
The mighty Mother Nature had conquered and won.
