WHAT IS KXP?
Founded in 2001, Kids X-Press. Inc. is a nonprofit organization devoted to giving children the opportunity to express themselves and to see their names in print. What began as an elementary-school newspaper has been transformed into an influential children’s literary magazine. At present, we have reached an annual distribution of over 140,000, and we don’t plan on stopping there! Through its flagship magazine and workshops, Kids X-Press, Inc. provides a forum for children to hone their literary skills in a fun, relaxed environment. A quarterly magazine, we currently distribute to schools, libraries, stores, and community centers throughout the New York Metropolitan area as well as in Newark, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL, and New Orleans, LA.
We are composed of a dedicated, motivated team that works together to assemble the magazine. Working alongside Nivia Viera, founder and publisher, are a board of directors, a board of editors, and an editorial and design team.

OUR STORY
HOW DID KIDS X-PRESS GET HERE?
Responding to the desire of their own children to have their writing published, the founders of Kids X-Press began publishing an elementary-school newspaper. The benefit to the children was tremendous. The simple act of seeing their creations in print had the most profound effect on all of them, regardless of ability. Inspired by this experience, Kids X-Press, Inc., was born.

WHERE WE ARE GOING
Since its inception in 2001, Kids X-Press, Inc., has published the work of more than one thousand children. The potential is unlimited, but our direction is clear. Kids X-Press, Inc., will have a national and international presence! Our magazine will be distributed into the hands of over one million children, and our workshops will reach out to the thousands of underserved children in the hardest-to-reach areas.

CIRCULATION
Due to the overwhelming demand for our magazine, we have increased our annual distribution to over 140,000. We currently publish quarterly and are distributed through schools, libraries, stores, and community centers throughout the New York Metropolitan region. New York Metropolitan area as well as in Newark, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL, and New Orleans, LA.
HOW IS KXP FUNDED?
Through the generosity of sponsors, grantors, and individual supporters, as well as through workshops available at after-school programs and other youth organizations. In addition, we offer programs for underwriting parts of Kids X-Press Magazine and individual and bulk subscriptions.
